Six reasons to study a Senior Leader Apprenticeship

The word ‘apprenticeship’ doesn’t automatically suggest opportunities for those in established careers. However, by combining study with work, an apprenticeship can be the perfect solution if you want to enhance your skills.

Our Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship offered by Newcastle University Business School is designed specifically for individuals who are currently in, or moving into, a strategic role.

Here are six reasons why you should apply for the Level 7 apprenticeship.

1. For business resilience

Develop exceptional leadership for exceptional times. Great leaders are characterised by their ethical values, how they form trusted relationships and effective collaboration with others. Having the right leadership in place helps create sustainable organisations that can navigate through uncertainty.

Our apprenticeship will help you develop strategic skills, insight, and resilience – so you and your organisation thrive during and beyond these challenging times.

2. For new endeavours

Our apprenticeship lead you down the right track. Our Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship leads to a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership.

If you want to take your learning further, a progression route is available to achieve the full Strategic Leadership MSc. This element is not accessible through the Apprenticeship Levy and involves an additional cost.

The apprenticeship and progression to Master’s level can be completed in 24 months.

3. For stronger skills

Study while you work and apply your learning in the workplace. Newcastle University Business School’s work-based Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship is designed especially for those who want to enhance their leadership skills while they’re still working. You’ll bring experiences from your workplace into the programme and implement your learning directly back into your organisation.

4. For professional growth

Achieve Chartered Manager status through the Chartered Institute of Management. During our apprenticeship, you’ll have access to the Chartered Management Institute’s (CMI) resources portal – ManagementDirect – which can support your studies and professional practice.

On successful completion of the programme, you’ll receive a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Management and Leadership. There’s also the potential to achieve full Chartered Manager status, should CMI be chosen as the end-point assessor.

5. For expanding horizons

Benefit from our unique approach which maps the curriculum against the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainability is at the heart of our programmes. Taking a globally responsible and connected approach, the apprenticeship will provide you with a unique, in-depth experience of mapping and measuring your personal impact against the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This will provide regional and global context to your work.

6. For today and tomorrow
